SPLASH DAY

It was a very special day for the children at Beachside. Splash Day is an event where the children can enjoy the water, socialise with their peers and develop important skills.

Water play gives children the opportunity to develop their gross and fine motor skills. Water is an important natural material that opens doors for developing coordination and strengthening our large muscle groups.

The children were given different materials such as cones to pour the water into the pool and with our peers. Not only is pouring water fun, but the children are able to develop skills in control and strength.

The children are exposed to different types of sensory through our Splash Day! Splashing the water or even getting sprayed by the water hose stimulates our senses and encourages development. Some of the children wanted the opportunity to use the hose themselves and learned how to squeeze the trigger.

Most importantly, Splash Day encouraged the children to build bonds with their peers, explore the water and have fun. Splash Day was filled with smiles!
