Our theme at Playgroup this month is Animals. Dramatic play, combined with creative arts, allows the children to create their own stories and setting their imagination free. We set up in the classroom a ‘jungle’ and encouraged the children to come up with a story. We made animal sounds together and used our entire body to enact the animals as we ‘Walk in the Jungle’. We also used this opportunity to compare large and small footprints, building a connection to Mathematics related vocabulary.

We will be delving in this deeper by comparing footprints and special features of each of the animals.
