CHINESE ZODIAC YOGA

Chinese New Year in 2021 was different from the other years, so we decided to celebrate this festival with a unique approach during our Home-Based Learning sessions with Chinese Zodiac Yoga. Children at Woodland Happy Valley were encouraged to wear red clothes, as red is considered a lucky colour, to join our live call sessions. After we read the story Chinese Zodiac十二生肖, our children were encouraged to find out what their own zodiac animal is. We even associated numeracy with the animal yoga poses by rolling a dice to decide our next yoga pose.

And no New Year is complete without the appearance of the lucky dragon, so we finished our online yoga session with a roar of the dragon pose to scare away evil spirits, guaranteeing a happy, lucky and healthy New Year! Our children enjoyed mindfulness yoga so much that they also tried it with their family members at home!
