This week the children at Happy Valley Pre-School have been exploring music and sounds within the outdoor environment.
As we continue to learn through our current programmes of inquiry ‘Once Upon a Time’ and ‘Story and Rhyme’, we are discovering how people express themselves and how stories are shared within different cultures.
The children used instruments and everyday objects to create sounds that represent the weather, animals and even the moods and emotions of the story characters they have become familiar with during our project. The provision has also helped the children verbalise and communicate with each other about the sounds they can hear and encouraged them to work together as musicians in our very own outdoor orchestra.
