CELEBRATION OF HANUKKAH

The beauty of being in Hong Kong is the vast diversity in the people and cultures. At Repulse Bay Montessori, we invited our child’s mom, Shoshana, to introduce to the children the celebration of Hanukkah!

The children learned about the Menorah, which means “lamp”. A candle is lit each night for the 8 nights of Hanukkah. During Hanukkah, lots of yummy foods are eaten such as latkes (fried potato pancakes), jam-filled doughnuts, chocolates and more! Shoshana showed the children what a dreidel looks like and how it spins. It’s a popular game to play with friends and family.

After she left, we played the “Dreidel” song. Here’s the link, you can play it at home with your children.
