Mid-Autumn Festival At Beachside Campus

Our beautiful Beachside campus was transformed overnight to celebrate this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival. Children had lots of fun decorating their very own mooncakes using playdough that the classes had made themselves. The mooncakes were then painted and wrapped for them to take home to their families. Children also brought in mason jars and turned them into their very own lanterns, using paint to decorate and transform them into their individual, colourful creations.

On Friday the children arrived on campus wearing some adorable, traditional outfits of both Chinese and international cultures. Our Mandarin teachers held small assemblies for our unaccompanied programmes and took them on a journey of celebration through stories and songs. They had the opportunity to touch, feel, and smell some of the traditional fruits that are served, including the water chestnut (not actually a nut) which is certainly a hit to the senses. It carries quite a smell once you can open it!

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Zhōng qiū kuài lè!
