Montessori Reaccreditation 2017

We are extremely proud to inform you that the MEAB (Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board) recently completed an assessment of our two Montessori schools, Woodland Montessori Academy and Repulse Bay Montessori, and was delighted to re-accredit us as an official Montessori Pre-School, for a further 4 years.

The MEAB operates across the UK and accredits schools throughout the world, so we were very happy to welcome them back into our schools for a four day period, during which they conducted a rigorous assessment of our Montessori practice and practitioners, from Playgroup age, up through Stepping Stones and, of course, Pre-School.

We are grateful to have an excellent team for their ongoing hard work and passion, and we also thank our wonderful parents for their interest, enthusiasm and support for Woodland Pre-Schools. The Board was very pleased with the integrity of our Montessori practice, and the continued improvements made, and clear, ongoing commitment to this highly effective methodology.

“This re-accreditation highlights that Woodlands continue to be at the forefront of Pre-school education in Hong Kong and are delivering the best educational experience to the children we teach.  It is testament to the hard work and passion our teachers continue to demonstrate.”  - Carrie Johnson; Head of Curriculum Woodlands Pre-Schools.

Our Montessori schools are the only group of pre-schools accredited by the MEAB in Hong Kong,
and all our traditional schools are accredited by the 'Pre-School Learning Alliance'.

The MEAB (Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board)

Introduced in 2007 by the Montessori St Nicholas Charity, the scheme was developed with the assistance of the British Accreditation Council and Independent Schools Inspectorate. MEAB’s mission is to acknowledge and support good Montessori practice and thereby promote greater understanding of such practice amongst parents and the wider educational sector.

The MEAB offers support and guidance to Montessori schools in order to ensure that Montessori provision is of a high quality. The scheme, which includes a visit by a MEAB assessor to the setting, also seeks to reassure parents that the school meets the MEAB criteria for high quality Montessori provision.

The accreditation scheme provides a cost-effective and straightforward way of demonstrating to parents, Ofsted, local authorities and staff that the school is committed to on-going self-appraisal and quality improvement. It aims to ensure that all MEAB accredited schools using the Montessori name offer high quality education and care to children.
