What do you love about your job?
I am so lucky coming to work in such a friendly and warm environment. Our teachers are fantastic and the children just put a smile on my face every day. Their laughter, singing and stories are the best!  Seeing the children every day makes me happy, reminding me how blessed I am to be a part of Woodland.

What do you enjoy most about working at Woodland?
The Woodland Group is a long standing family-run business with deep-rooted family values and vision which drives us to be the best in the early years education field.  I find this so unique and lovely. Our schools have such a fantastic reputation which I feel very fortunate to be a part of. I am also proud to call our group of delightful colleagues my friends.

What’s your favourite memory of working at Woodland?
I have so many, even in my short time here that I would not be able to pick just one from all my favourite moments!

What do I like to do when I am not in school?
I really enjoy walking and seeing new parts of Hong Kong that I have yet to discover and there are so many more to explore. I also love the water so at any available opportunity I love to go out on it - either sailing or swimming. Hong Kong is such a diverse place to live, a bustling city with wonderful beaches and countryside merely minutes from the city.

What do you enjoy most about working at Woodland?
It’s wonderful seeing the children coming in every day with a big smile and saying, “Hello, Ms Angel”.

What’s your favourite memory of working at Woodland?
Once, I covered for a mother on one of our school buses for a of couple mornings. The children and I had a great time, reading stories and singing songs. I never knew it was so much fun riding on the school bus!

  • Ms Priya Prasad

    Ms Priya Prasad

    Lead Teacher

Qualifications: Early Childhood Education Diploma, Bachelor in Business Administration, International Baccalaureate Certificate in Teaching and Learning

Nationality/years in Hong Kong and/or Asia: Hong Kong, 26 years

What do you love about your job?
Throughout my teaching career, I have always encouraged my students to be active learners and promote inquiry-based learning in the classroom.

I also believe that respectful, caring bonds with children and their families are the foundation of a wonderful kindergarten experience. As a teacher of the young, I share with parents the responsibility for teaching their child.

What’s your favourite memory of teaching at Woodland?
I enjoy celebrating and educating the children about all the different festivals around the world. Teachers and children are given a wonderful opportunity to dress up in their fantastic and colourful costumes. These action-packed days are full of fun, excitement and laughter. My personal favourite is our costume parades!

  • Yeng Ng

    Yeng Ng

    Preparation for Primary Co-ordinator

Qualifications: BSc Social Sciences and Post Graduate Certificate in Education

Nationality/years in Hong Kong and/or Asia: British, 9 years in Hong Kong

What do you love about your job?
I love witnessing children’s development throughout the year and that ‘eureka’ moment, when they found a task difficult, and then they just ‘get it’!

What do you enjoy most about working at Woodland?
The children are great to teach and very funny. The staff were very supportive and helpful when I first joined the team. It can be tough being the new girl, but everyone at Harbourside and the rest of the Woodland team made my transition much easier for me!

What’s your favourite memory of teaching at Woodland?
I was on lunch duty and a group of boys were being quite noisy and not really eating their lunch. I was about to tell them to calm down and to continue eating, when a little girl said to me, “Miss Yeng, why are boys so noisy and annoying?!”
My reply was, “They don’t grow out of it!”

What do you like to do when you are not teaching?
I like seeing my friends in my spare time, hiking, sleeping, eating and going to the beach, when the weather is good. My favourite hike is the Dragons Back, as you end up in Shek O with the beach and good food. The toughest hike I’ve done is Lantau Peak. Wasn’t a good idea to hike it in the summer either! I used to play hockey and I am thinking about picking up my hockey stick again.
