Classes & Curriculum
The following classes are offered at our school:
Rollers (6 to 12 months)
Rollers classes’ play-based curriculum involves singing and moving, exploration and discovery of the senses and stimulating gross motor development through fun and engaging activities.
Wrigglers (12 to 18 months)
Based on the Rollers class and adapted for older children, Wrigglers is a fun-filled programme which promotes your child’s physical, sensorial and social development alongside sparking their creativity.
Playgroup caters for children aged from 18 months to 2½ years and provides an introduction to school life. Children must be accompanied by a parent or helper who should participate in play activities to maximize the child's confidence and participation levels. Read more
Stepping Stones is for children aged 2 years 4 months of age and above and will prepare them for our pre-school classes. The classes help children become increasingly independent of their accompanying adult, develop classroom routines, learn to positively interact with others, and develop their concentration skills. Children usually attend for one term before graduating to our pre-school classes. Read more
The pre-school curriculum is designed for children aged 2½ to 5 years who are ready for the challenges of pre-school. It is not necessary for children to have attended our Stepping Stones classes prior to entry to pre-school. However, children who have are clearly more familiar with the staff, surroundings and routines, which leads to a faster, less stressful transition into the pre-school programme. Prep For Primary Club
As the children prepare to move up and on to Primary School, the Prep for Primary Club focuses on each child’s individual strengths and weaknesses, building on the skills and knowledge they have gained in the morning programme. Amongst other benefits, this programme emphasises on language, literacy, and mathematics as well as prepares children mentally, emotionally and physically for full-day school. Read more
Kids In Motion
Kids In Motion is a new concept in teaching specialised physical education classes brought to the Woodland Group by Ms. Rachel Davies. Ms. Rachel earned her Children's Fitness Teacher Certificate from the Asian Academy for Sports and Fitness and The Australian Fitness Network.
Kids In Motion classes are scheduled on a bi-weekly basis. These classes are designed to be fun, energizing and to promote the benefits of regular exercise. Children will also be taught the benefits of healthy eating. Should you have concerns regarding physical education for your child, please do not hesitate to contact your child's school.
Extra-curricular activities are a fun way to bring out a hidden talent or interest, learn new skills and make new friends.
